LEADERSHIP

Elected to be Honorary Colonel of the Regiment in June 2019.  COL Scurlock assumed command of TF 1-26 in Kosovo and commanded the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry in Schweinfurt, Germany, from 1999-2001. 

Served as the Command Sergeant Major of the 1st Battalion 26th Infantry Regiment from 1998 to 2001.

CSM (R) Dedrich was the Task Force 1-26 CSM in Kosovo.

He is a second generation Blue Spader as his father served in the Blue Spaders.

“Deke” is also a member of the Ranger Hall of Fame.

 Adjutant of the Association:  G. Brynt Parmeter, since 2017.  Served as the S3, 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, in Samarra, Iraq from July 2004 through February 2005.  Upon redeploying to Schweinfurt, Germany he served as both the S3 and XO of the battalion until June 2005.  Responsible for Association Membership, Finances, and History.  Serves as the Association Office of Record.

Newsletter Editor: M.W. “Mike” Menser, since 2011. Mike’s Army career included extensive operational experience in Infantry combat and peacekeeping operations as well as writing, instructing, training all aspects of infantry/special operations – technical, tactical and doctrinal. He operated in the Blue Spaders’ AO when assigned II Field Force LRRPs in 1968 in Viet Nam and served over four years in the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry (1974 to 1978) in Goeppingen, Germany. He was Battalion Maintenance Officer, Bn S-4, and commanded Alpha Company (AlphaGators).
